Huka Lodge is one of New Zealand’s most desirable fly fishing destinations. But rather than a remote stay, Huka Lodge offers a high end experience right beside the beautiful Waikato River and is just a few minutes drive off the North Island’s main arterial route. Accommodation, hospitality and cuisine at Huka Lodge are all superb.
In celebration of this rich heritage the lodge is hosting the Huka Lodge Fly Fishing Tournament from 29 August to 1 September 2019. This event offers an exciting three-day angling event. It is available to a maximum of 50 guests and will be action-packed, both on and off the water. The fly fishing for trout in this region is legendary and Huka Lodge has been central to this for the last 90 years.
Anglers will be provided with a team of experienced and knowledgeable local guides throughout the tournament to ensure fantastic fishing in over 25 of the best spots. Individual casting lessons will also be included for those who would like to brush up on their technique.
Celebrity chef, restaurateur, author, and dedicated fisherman, Al Brown will join the tournament, and will host the Celebrity Dinner at the end. There’s a fabulous tournament prize offering worth over $NZ 13,000.00. Other events include a Champagne Station, a rare whiskey tasting, and a ‘Tour de France Dinner of Wine’.
